Wappwolf Invented Beaming - Launch of iBeam.it
Wappwolf announces the launch of a new product. iBeam.it gives you the permission to share content freely with your favorite account, distribute to the ones you love, like or work with. No worries reaching everybody. Have people receive your stuff THEIR way.
The clouds are gathering so we decided to zoom out and build another layer to make sharing between cloud services a seamless experience.
You are struggling the whole day sending files, zipping, attaching, downloading, creating a link, using a service here and there to get your stuff to the people you want to share with?
And the other side is not even better. Your inbox gets messed up with emails and attachments. Invites that forces you to sign up for this service and that product to get stuff from others.
Even on Facebook that claims itself to making the world more social and connected - yes as long as you are within their boundary.
The BIG 4 Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft and the new kid on the block Dropbox are all focused on making their service a silo. It is easy to share stuff within but to reach outsiders? The only chance to reach them is to send an email with a shared link or attach a file.
Sharing is not yet seamless. It is for members only!
That is why we invented beaming.
I Beam It to my friends and do not care which service they are using or where they want to save my content. Create a beam and invite people to follow your stuff. It is up to the follower if he wants to get all your files in his Dropbox or he wants to follow your photos on Picasa. We are connecting the dots.
And the best about it - the beam remains active, so future updates or new files you place in your source folder will be pushed to all of your followers to the place they subscribed to your beam.
One button to reach them all
Publishers should embed the Beam.it Button to their blog or news stream to engage with their readers providing additional content people can follow or subscribe to.
Not only publishers but also service providers, marketeers or artists are able to share their content and push updates to their followers by just placing the Beam.it button on their website.
iBeam.it changes the way teachers push and collect assignments to their students.
iBeam.it lets you share specific albums on Facebook with family members that are not ‘inside’. Every new photo uploaded to that album will be pushed to the service they decide to receive it.

Why introducing a new brand iBeam.it?
Wepwuff? wopwulf? Who ever knew how to spell Wappwolf correctly right from the start?
Any more questions?
Learnings from the Wappwolf Automator
To remain with the metaphor - The Automator was built for Aliens.
A very lean approach but still for the tech crowd. We asked a lot of questions and learned what our users like, dislike, love and complain about. We were crunching the numbers of our databases that led us the way to build a product with a focus on sharing with a nice design, that is easy enough to use for everybody. The pain of connecting the dots between the services we all are using every day is getting harder. But there is no solution yet, easy enough to reach the mass market.
Why we love to Beam?
Share, spread, follow, stream, feed, follow - these words are occupied and in connection with Facebook, Twitter, Cloud storages
Beam: has a direction, can be redirected easily (by the follower), is super fast, light is a miracle
The meaning of to Beam stuff - like i beam it - is not yet connected to a brand.
But to be honest we got caught by all these Star Trek Enterprise metaphors.
Happy Holidays - Happy Beaming
Share your holiday photos with a beam and let your followers decide how they get them delivered.
